One thing you can't live without? #Blogtober16

I am taking part in Blogtober16 and will be writing posts with various themes/prompts throughout October....

I think it is a given that I couldn't live without the vital things like my girls, food and wine.....hehehe

The other thing I really couldn't live without is the internet!

I can't actually remember a life without it....It seems to have always been there but I know it hasn't....I am not that young. I think I first used the internet in about 1998. Downloading songs via Napster, chatting on MSN Messenger and playing silly games.....

Looking back now I just wasted time on the internet. Now I use it for everything. I do my grocery shopping, banking, keep in touch with family, blog, play games, shopping for birthdays and Christmas, reading the news, finding out information, helping the kids with their homework thanks to Google (Phew), paying the bills, complaining about things to companies, checking the weather, getting travel info, finding out about days out, watching YouTube, sharing photos and probably lots of things I can't even think of....

The thought of having no internet connection fills me with dread.....When we moved into this house we were without the internet for nearly a month. Thankfully it was before I blogged so I didn't really miss out on much. I dare not even think about that now.

  2. I mentioned internet in my post...IN 1998 I was 33 and we were just having our first home pc. I think it took a while to take take over, especially as I could watch nearly a whole episode of Eastenders while it was dialling up, connection was so slow. I use it every day now, but I didn't miss it when I was in hospital, and I coped when we moved house 3 years ago and didn't get connected for over a month. x

  5. I break out in a cold sweat when we have a brief outage... Seems like dark times now thinking about dial-up, being booted off the web so I didn't tie up the phone line!

  7. Yes! I am totally with you on this. My daughter is literally horrified that the internet didn't exist when we were kids. I think most information I know has come from google and Youtube!
