Trying out CELIA organic craft Czech lager - Review!

I am not a lager drinker unless it's mixed with lemonade as a shandy or has a ton of blackcurrant juice in. I prefer wine but my fella is. He enjoys a few cans or bottles over the weekend but recently he has became a bit bored of his usual drink so this was sent to try at the perfect time.

Celia Organic is 100% organic and brewed using three simple ingredients, CELIA Organic is a premium craft Czech lager ideal for even the most discerning lager drinker.

CELIA is proud to be brewed by the Zatecky brewery located in the historic Czech town Zatec. Brewing in the Zatec town dates back as far as 1004 but by the end of the 18th century, the original Zatec breweries were not able to cover the full market demand for beer so a new brewery was built in 1797. The CELIA brewery’s cornerstone was laid on 20 June 1798 on the site of a royal castle. After two years of construction, brewing began on 26 July 1800 and the brewery produced 840 kegs containing 4,200,000 litres of beer.

This history and heritage still remains part of the CELIA brewing process today and its the traditional methods such as manual controls and hops which are still dosed by hand that keep CELIA a genuine hand crafted brew today.

Moravian malt sourced from the Bohemian region, 100% locally sourced organic Saaz hops and sand-filtered water from the Žatec foothills combine to create a delicious, refreshing lager with a delicate bitterness and a hint of citrus, which also has the added benefit of being gluten free.

Stu my fella gave it a try last night and he liked it. He said it did taste sweeter than other lagers but it was something different and it would be something he would drink again. He said it didn't leave him feeling as gassy as other lagers do. He was very impressed, so much so that he asked me to add some to the shopping delivery next week. It's a good job Tesco sells it.

It wouldn't be something Stu would drink all the time though because it is pricier than most other lagers at £2.29 a bottle from Tesco but prices do vary as it's only £1.83 in Waitrose and £1.80 in Sainsbury's.

It would make a fantastic gift as a treat for a lager lover in your life. Father's day is coming up, so it's something to think about.

We were sent some of the CELIA organic craft Czech lager free of charge in exchange for this blog post.

  1. I've tried organic lagers before and they taste so much nicer than regular ones, a lot lighter and more crisp. These sound lovely and definitely something we would enjoy. #MMBC
