Jam Roly Poly using the Fruit Bowl Raspberry Fruit Flakes - Recipe!

We're half way through the Easter holidays and we've already had a baking day. We made biscuits, cupcakes and a few other bits.

What we haven't got around to making yet is the Jam Roly Poly from Fruit Bowl which was recently shared with me.

All of Fruit Bowl's tasty recipes incorporate their fruit-based products, helping kids with their 5-a-day whilst also enjoying some yummy bakes.

Total cooking time: 90 minutes.
Serves 8.

You will need:

3 packets (18g) Raspberry fruit flakes
1 Knob of butter
300g Self-raising flour
85g Caster sugar
140g Suet
150ml Milk
8 tbsp Raspberry jam
425g Custard

Instructions:

Heat your oven to 170C/gas mark 4.
Place a roasting dish half full with boiling water in the bottom of the oven, making sure there is another shelf directly above for the Jam Roly Poly.
Mix the flour, sugar and suet together and add a good pinch of salt.
Pour in the milk and mix to make a soft dough, making sure it's not too sticky.
Roll out the dough onto a floured surface until it’s about 20x30cm.
Making sure you leave a border around the edges, cover with jam and scatter with Fruit Bowl Raspberry Fruit Flakes.
Roll into a sausage shape and gently pinch the ends to seal in the jam.
Cover a sheet of baking parchment in butter.
Roll up tightly in the buttered baking parchment then roll in tin foil.
Place on a baking tray and pop it on the shelf directly above the roasting dish currently in the oven.
Bake for 50 mins until the roll feels firm.
Allow to stand for 5 mins before slicing into portions.
Serve with custard and a sprinkling of Fruit Flakes!

Does this sound like something you or your family would like?
