A worrying week but I'm fine. #WotW

This week my Word of the Week is:

I started writing this blog post on Friday evening last week.....I had some news which meant I knew how the week was going to go....

On Friday evening I had some news regarding someone's health....It's nothing to do with my girls or Stu. We're all fine....I hate being so cryptic but they want their privacy. It has been scary and worrying even though the person in question is not worrying at all.....They are blase about the fact they had a small stroke....I will worry about them as they are someone I care about.....They are on the mend now and I think it has been the shock they needed to slow down a little.

On Wednesday I visited the Jobcenter for an interview regarding housing benefit fraud. I received a letter calling me in last week....I am not committing fraud (obviously) but someone seemed to think I was and reported me....It was all sorted in 10 minutes and was a waste of everyone's time....The funniest thing mentioned was that I apparently spend a lot of time abroad....hahaha I don't even have a passport!

I am one of those people who feels guilty when I have nothing to be guilty of....I over explain everything to prove my innocence and feel like I just waffle and I probably did this in the interview....Oops.

And now this is the term I worry about my youngest Ellie.....A couple of years ago I blogged about how Ellie's behaviour changes at this time of year. I don't know if it's her worrying about getting a new teacher in September or excitement for the summer holidays, we have never got to the bottom of it....She always has a naughty phase, is fine over the summer holidays and then goes back to school in September and is on her best behaviour.....

In an update to the blog post a couple of years ago last year she just got lazy and refused to do her work in class....She even went as far as lying to the deputy head saying she had finished her work....She was kept in at playtime a lot.....Now the bad behaviour has sort of started again.

Remember the who issue of the bullying which was stopped and now the girls are being lovely to her.....Ellie on the other hand isn't being the loveliest. She seems to have grown in confidence since the bullying has stopped which is great but is have made her into a bit of a diva....Her and her friends were all playing together and someone decided to play another game which Ellie wasn't happy about....She wanted them to play her game. She went off into a mood and was ignoring the one's who wouldn't play her game and being quite nasty. It's not the first time things like this have happened as the teacher has had a chat with some of the kids.....The whole situation has been flipped and she is verging on becoming a bully and I am so ashamed. Hopefully after the talk we had with her teacher has brought it home that her behaviour is not acceptable. I have had more chats with her at home and hopefully this is the end of it....

I have had a lot to worry about this week but to be honest I haven't worried or stressed about things as much as I usually do....I'm pretty proud of myself taking it all in my stride.....We have actually had a good week....I haven't let my worries ruin our fun....

  1. Oh no so much going on, sorry to hear this. I hope you can find a solution to your daughter, sounds like there is something deeper going on, I don't know but children can be really testing at times X #wotw

    1. Thank you. I really just think it's an end of term/school year thing. There is no routine at school with sports days, trips and assemblies. She thrives on routine.

  2. Enough worry for a while. I hope this end of the week is feeling easier. Just writing it down usually helps me. What a palaver with the Job Centre. Glad that was sorted so easily. Hope your talks with Ellie helps. Small strokes happen more often than you imagine and people do recover. I hope they are doing well. I really do know how worrying that one is. #wotw

Yes my friend mentioned something today that made me think that strokes are more common than you think....Thank you. x

  3. Sorry to hear that you've had a lot to worry about this week. I do hope that the person who had the health scare will be okay and that your chat with Ellie has helped improve things. Glad to hear you got things sorted out with the housing benefit too x #WotW

  4. It can be hard towards the end of term. Have you asked her what is worrying her? It must have been horrible to be bullied and this may be her reaction to the bullying stopping. I'd try and speak to her about everything, see if anything is worrying her and talk about her behaviour being unacceptable. I'd try to avoid using the word naughty as this can stick with kids and it may just be her dealing with the bullying that happened

    1. I have asked her...She said nothing is worrying her and I believe her. She loves school now. I think she has just got cocky that she has more friends with the bulling being stopped....When she was being bullied we said shout back at the people who were shouting at her to scare them off. At the time we were willing to try anything....It seems now she has decided to take notice when it isn't needed. Parenting is such a minefield. lol

  6. Sorry you have had so much to worry about, but it sounds like you are getting it all under control. I had the same sort of thing with my Boo after she was bullied at school, when it was sorted she became a bit of a diva herself! Thankfully, she soon got over it and hopefully Ellie's behaviour will get better too, keep talking, you are a good mum x

    1. Ahh! Glad to hear it isn't just Ellie. I think when the bullying stops and they gain confidence they get a bit carried away with themselves...Thank you x
