Dyson Light Ball Multi Floor & V6 Cord Free Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner Bundle - Review!

I tend to keep myself to myself in the blogging world but I do have a few bloggers I would class as real friends. Jayne from Sticky Mud & Belly Laughs is one of these people.....

I was nominated by Jayne to take part in a gifting challenge this month in collaboration with AO.Com. We were given a list of 10 products that are going to be really popular this Christmas and we got to choose one to send to each other....I chose for Jayne and she did for me. We picked our top three choices and then we had to wait to see what would arrive....It really felt like Christmas!

As soon as the text message arrived about the delivery I turned detective found the tracking number and discovered I was being sent the Dyson Light Ball Multi Floor & V6 Cord Free Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner Bundle. Wow! I couldn't have been happier. I spent the day tracking the delivery driver on my phone and was pacing the living room when it was due to be delivered....hehehe

As soon as I had the chance I unboxed them and put them together which was so simple....I am usually rubbish at things like this but had the V6 Cord Free vacuum put together in minutes without me even reading the instructions. The Light Ball Multi Floor took slightly longer but that was because of my stupidity trying to put things on the wrong way around. I'd say it took no longer than 10 minutes to assemble them both!

Dyson Light Ball Multi Floor

The upright is brilliant for giving really dirty carpets a long, thorough clean, as it has Radial Root Cyclone Technology which improves airflow to remove more dust and dirt. You’ll be able to effortlessly move around furniture too, as Ball Technology lets you clean awkward spaces with ease.

This has been moved upstairs as we have carpets up there and it is perfect for them. I had vacuumed our bedroom a couple of days before using our old vacuum and then used the Light Ball.....I was amazed at how much dust, hair and dirt it picked up. It looks like I hadn't vacuumed in months! Eek!

The cord is so long. I can plug it into a socket in the middle of the living room and vacuum the whole of the downstairs of our house....I can leave the Light Ball at the bottom

I imagined this being so loud but it really isn't....It is quieter than my old vacuum but about 10 times more powerful!

I suffer with a bad back. Using my old vacuum I would be in pain afterwords....With the Light Ball I was OK. I could easily carry it up the stairs myself and the "Ball Technology" really does work. This is very easy to move around and takes no effort...Both of my girls have vacuumed their rooms using it and thought it was easy to use.

V6 Cord Free Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner

The cordless V6 vacuum offers versatile cleaning and powerful suction and is perfect for tackling tasks like the stairs. Its 2 Tier Radial™ Cyclones separate air and dust inside for incredible suction, and with a 20 minute run time from a single charge, you can leave any room spotless.

This one is by far my favourite at the moment but that is only because I have used it more more than the Light Ball one. It is being kept downstairs and is so handy just to grab and clean up any mess my girls have made. It is so much easier than getting on my hands and knees with a dustpan and brush.

The power button is a trigger which means you don't leave it running unnecessarily and wasting the battery life. I have ran the battery down once while I was vacuuming the stairs after it had been used earlier in the day...For a small clean or home this is perfect. We wouldn't be able to vacuum our whole house in one go with it as the battery only holds about a 20 minute charge but that is fine with us.

As well as doing the laminate floors it can double us as a handheld vacuum. Perfect for the stairs, table tops and cars! I have already used it to vacuum the drawers and cupboards in the kitchen.

The V6 comes with a docking station that you attach to the wall and it stores the vacuum and holds two cleaning attachments. I am still waiting for my fella to make a space for it under the stairs.

They are both great for vacuuming floors and carpets and getting into awkward places with their attachments. Vacuuming the stairs is now pleasure instead of a chore.

Both the vacuums are so simple to empty. Emptying takes just a push of a button and the bottom of the dust/dirt canister opens up....I am amazed how much is being sucked up....I thought I lived in a clean house until I used these.

I imagine these would be amazing if you had pets....The amount of hair they have picked up from myself and my girls is unbelievable.

This is a great bundle. It has everything for all your vacuuming needs. I have surprised myself. I actually enjoy vacuuming now. It doesn't seem like a chore.

You can see what Jayne thought of her gift over on her blog.

I will be keeping an eye on AO.com over the next few weeks. Every year I have a coffee machine of some sort on my Christmas wish list and this year Stu has promised me one! Hooray and we are looking for a couple of the TV's for the girls for Christmas. I have signed up to the Black Friday deal alerts on AO.com so hopefully we can get some bargains....

I was sent these free of charge in exchange for this blog post and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Planning for Christmas. Day 24 of #Blogtober17

I am taking part in Blogtober17 and will be writing posts with various themes/prompts throughout October...Today's prompt is: Xmas

It's nearly the end of October and I am already thinking about Christmas....I love Christmas and I think the planning is more exciting than the actual day for me....Don't get me wrong I do love seeing the girls open their presents but I like the build up to the big day too!

I already have quite a few of the girls Christmas presents bought....Phew! We know what we're getting the girls for their main presents but I'm not going to say what they are on here in case they read but they are going to be so happy! I haven't started shopping for Stu yet....I have an idea of what to get him though....

I wasn't sure about doing Elf on the Shelf again this year but Ellie has started asking about it....For the past few years Elizabeth our elf has came and visited throughout December. She sometimes got up to a little mischief but on the whole she has been a good elf....I think I am going to have to spend some time on Pinterest thinking up some new ideas for her.

We will be putting the Christmas tree up on the first weekend in December! I can't wait to decorate the house and over the next couple of weeks I hope to buy some new decorations....

I am planning on starting shopping for some of the Christmas food like tubs of chocolate, alcohol and things that will keep for months in the middle of November. When I see something on offer I will get it....I did buy a couple of bottles of Baileys when it was on offer a couple of weeks ago and I made Stu hide one away so it will last until Christmas. hehehe

I already have money some of the bill paid with the Tesco clubcard vouchers which I save up for Christmas....It really helps go towards paying for the food shop. I love doing the Christmas food shop....I spend weeks planing what we need and want. I don't like trying to book a delivery slot though. I am one of those people who stays up and at midnight when the delivery slots are released. hehehe Last year I got one for the 23rd and it was perfect and Tesco delivered nearly everything so on Christmas Eve I only had a couple of things to pop out for....

We will of course be doing some baking....This year I want to make some mince pies. It seems years since we made any.

A couple of years ago I started the tradition of making a Gingerbread house and the girls love it.....I just get the kit from Tesco and I am sure we will get another this year.

I am hoping my dad comes for a visit like he usually does before Christmas...He has had some health issues so I haven't seen him since last December. We have of course talked on the phone....I will have to have a think about what to get him for Christmas too....Eek! Dad's are so hard to buy for. My dad's girlfriend is easy to buy for I have tons of ideas for her. hehehe

Ellie has seen You Tubers join in with Vlogmas posting a video each day and wants us to join in....I have said no chance. We are not You tubers but we are going to be making a few videos over December.

If we have the money I am hoping to take the girls to see a panto this year....They have never been to one and I want them to see one before they get too old to totally enjoy it.

It is Ellie's last year in Primary school this year so I will be enjoying every school play, carol service and Christmas event because as soon as she goes to the secondary school it all seems to stop.

Have you got any big plans for Christmas?

Our last proper snow day. Day 23 of #Blogtober17

I am taking part in Blogtober17 and will be writing posts with various themes/prompts throughout October...Today's prompt is: Weather

It's been years since we had any proper snow here....We've had an inch or so but nothing that has stayed around for more than a couple of hours....The last time it snowed properly and stuck around was during 2010.....

In the January the girls had their first fun in the snow....They loved it and spent hours out in it....In fact they cried when they had to come back inside....

I was searching for these photos and came across some video clips of the girls playing in the snow which I had totally forgotten about....I had to share! I always forget how small they were....hehehe

Later in 2010 it snowed again! This time the school was closed! Hooray! It was very exciting for Becky. A day off school to play in the snow was the best day ever!!

The girls had also perfected the art of building a snowman!

I like the snow when it is like this....White and fluffy. I am not so keen when it starts to melts and turns into ice....

Do you like the snow? When did you last build a snowman?

Our Weekly Meal Plan!! - #mealplanningmonday

Last weeks meal plan went pretty well....After the parents evening for Ellie we skipped the chip shop tea and chose to have a Chinese instead....It felt like such a treat.

On Saturday night we had burgers....The girls and I had ours early and my fella made his own when he got in from work....I wish I had waited for him to make mine. hehehe

It is half term here this week so the girls are home all day....The fridge is full in preparation and I am planning on getting the girls to help with the cooking....They love to help out in the kitchen.

This week on the menu we have:

Monday - Chicken and mushroom omelette....
Tuesday - Meatloaf with roast potatoes & veg.
Wednesday - Ham, eggs and curly fries....
Friday - Fish and chips....
Saturday - Pizza....
Sunday - A roast dinner of some sort.....

What are you eating this week?

I am taking part in Blogtober17 and will be writing posts with various themes/prompts throughout October...Today's prompt is: Villains and Superheroes

Classic Catowoman Costume - £37.99 - Halloween Costumes

My unusual crush - Day 21 of #Blogtober17

I am taking part in Blogtober17 and will be writing posts with various themes/prompts throughout October...Today's prompt is: Unusual crushes....

This prompt seems pretty perfect for this weekend.....My big crush returns to TV soon. Sunday night in America and Monday night here in the UK. If you are not a fan of The Walking Dead you probably want to give this post a miss or if you are behind with the series there may be spoilers! Beware!

My biggest crush at the moment is Negan from The Walking Dead.....

Yes he killed one of my favourite characters in show....Abraham! He may have been my unusual crush if he was still alive...RIP to Glenn too....He had ran his course though....

Negan is one of those characters that is so bad that he is entertaining to watch....He's an utter nutcase! He makes The Governor look like a pussycat! He's cruel, manipulative, brutal but he is also charismatic, has a sick sense of humour and a very cool leather jacket!....

His one liners are hilarious! The one that sticks in my head is what he said the the priest Father Gabriel. Holy crap! You are creepy as s**t, sneaking up on me wearing that collar with that freaky ass smile! He was creepy and did appear from nowhere. lol

I really hope over the new series we get to see some of his backstory....I have read about what happens to him in the comics. He had a wife who died of cancer in hospital at the start of Walkers appearing....I am betting that was the same hospital where Rick was in the first episode! Hmmm!

I was late getting into watching The Walking Dead.....My fella loved it from Day one but it took me until the episode where Lori gave birth to Judith in the 3rd series to become interested....I can't imagine not watching it now!

Why my teen doesn't like me. Day 20 of #Blogtober17

I am taking part in Blogtober17 and will be writing posts with various themes/prompts throughout October...Today's prompt is: Teenagers....

A couple of years ago I wrote a blog post about why my tween doesn't like me. I thought I would do an updated version....Becky turned 15 last month so is well into the teenage years now.

Back in 2015 Becky had never said she hated me....Wow! She has since, quite a few times. It's normal though. People keep telling me so and I remember saying it to my mother....I am still blaming the hormones....I know she doesn't mean it.

A couple of years ago I used to have to nag at her to go in the shower or bath....Now she will spend all day in there given the chance. She hates it when I tell her to get out of the shower. Even if other people are waiting to go in. I am just being mean. This is after a good half hour has passed it's not like she had just got in. lol....When it comes to having a bath she thinks it is her god given right to have a bath bomb....If I don't let her have one I am just being greedy and selfish.

I make Becky help around the house....Just little jobs like putting the dishes away, hanging the washing on the line or helping putting the shopping away. I think these are life skills which need to be taught.

I don't wash her clothes quickly enough! She complains when she leaves something on her bedroom floor and it isn't washed the next day....I keep telling her unless she brings her clothes downstairs or at least put them in her washing basket how am I meant to know they are dirty.....It's not like I'm even asking her to put them in the washer herself....

I shout when she has neglected to mention that she has homework.....Especially when it gets to about 8pm at night and she starts getting her school things out.....Grr! Obviously watching YouTube was more important than homework.

I won't let her walk upstairs or downstairs in her slippers.....They are big and clumpy....They are a serious accident waiting to happen. She has already tripped over in them several time....Becky has said I am too over protective and need to stop caring....I just can't do that.

I won't buy her an iPhone....Have you seen the price of them? That is a months rent!! She has a Samsung phone. One good enough for what she needs it for but according to her I depriving her....All her friends have one so she needs one too....

Becky hates it when I stop her snacking....I don't deprive her of food but sometimes she can see that I am in the middle of cooking tea and she goes to the fridge and picks at things 10 minutes before tea is ready!! Eesh!

I still won't let her watch Geordie Shore, Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad.....She still hates me for that. When she is at an age where she can watch them I will happily watch them with her....This does not amuse her. lol She thinks now she is 15 she can watch 15 rated films....Some of them are OK but she want's to see the horror film IT. No chance!

I won't let her go to the park with her friends....A few months ago in a park near us a 16 year old girl was raped....

I make her brush her teeth after every meal. Becky thought as soon as she got her braces off she wouldn't have to brush them as much...That came as a shock to her...lol

Becky hates it when I listen to "her" music, enjoy it and sing along.....I am frowned upon when I say I like The Bieber, Jake & Logan Paul, Ed Sheeran and dancing to Little Mix is a big no, no!

My girl knows everything and is always right......Of course in her 15 years of being alive she knows more than I do in my 37 years of being alive.....

It is challenging being a mother of a teenager but I wouldn't change it.....For every iffy moment we have we have at least 50 amazing, memorable moments.....Teen years are hard but they are totally worth it. I recently wrote a blog post about Why I love having a teenager. They are not that bad. hehehe

I have been planning. #WotW

This week my Word of the Week is:

This week has all been about planning.

The kids finish school today for half term and I have been planning what to do with them over the holidays. We have Halloween cake and biscuit mixes to make, some crafts to do. I bought some fab kits from Hobbycraft and I wished I'd bought one of everything I got the girls for myself....

I promised Ellie that I would take her to soft play. Ugh! What was I thinking. I hate soft play and we're also going to finally make slime!! I love the half term holidays as they are just the right amount of time to have some fun without getting bored....

On Tuesday we had Ellie's parents evening and I had a lovely chat with her teacher....I've seen her teacher lots since the beginning of term because of Ellie's suspected Autism so I am well aware of how she is doing but nice to be reassured that the teacher has our back and is looking out for Ellie. As we haven't heard anything back from the people we were referred to, the plan is to give them until the first day back at school and then ring them....Then keep ringing until I get somewhere.

Stu and I had a good chat about Christmas and we have decided what the girls are getting for Christmas as their main presents. Ellie smashing the screen on her tablet this week helped us come to the decision. lol We were just going to get the screen fixed but a new screen on Ebay is £14.99. We can get the next model up from her tablet for £49.99 so I think we're just going for the upgrade. So if Ellie's getting a new tablet we want to buy Becky something electronic and have decided to get her a new phone. We're hoping to get something in the Black Friday sales.

I have been taking part in #Blogtober17 and as I have all the prompts I have been able to write the blog posts up until the end of this month! Hooray which means I have been able to  get ahead in planning and writing blog posts for November and I even have one scheduled for December. lol I am feeling very organised.

Good and bad secrets. Day 19 of #Blogtober17

I am taking part in Blogtober17 and will be writing posts with various themes/prompts throughout October...Today's prompt is: Secrets.

I have been half following the news about Harvey Weinstein and one part of me isn't surprised that things like this happen in Hollywood but another part of me is shocked that so many people have came forward against this vile man now....Some have been keeping this a secret for years...

I was watching the news and Becky started talking to me...We got on about different types of secrets then Ellie joined in on the conversation and I felt like I was winning at parenting in the 10 minutes that followed.....

We talked about that there are the secrets which are really surprises....What Stu and the girls have got me for my birthday, what the kids are getting for Christmas or if we're going on a day out and how Stu and I keep it a secret from them until we are ready to leave.....That type of thing. The secrets that never stay secret for long....We decided that we are OK with those types of secrets...

We then got on about the secrets we shouldn't keep to ourselves....

I have always made it clear to my girls that if anyone asks them to keep a secret about anything including their friends and they are worried they should tell me....

Secrets their friends tell like "Shh, don't tell anyone but my nanna let me stay up past my bedtime" are OK. No one is coming to harm but if a friend told them that their nanna let them stay up past their bedtime because she was drunk on the couch. That is not OK.....

They know that if the secret can hurt someone or leave them in danger to tell me. They know to trust their instincts...I am confident that my girls don't keep secrets from me....I have always said that they can tell me anything and I’ll believe them....

We talked about how no one, not even someone they know well has the right to ask them to keep a secret....Not even an adult....Becky chirped up and said they have done about this at school and she told me how they had a talk about inappropriate touching and how if it happened you had to tell.....I went over it with Ellie and she said if anyone touched her where they shouldn't she'd kick them, scream and tell someone straight away.....I quite believe she would too!

I am so lucky that I have a good relationship with my girls....So different from when I was growing up. My mother made me and my brother keep her drinking a secret from my dad and the rest of the world. She would tell him she'd only had one glass of whatever when she'd had 4 and tell my brother and I to keep it a secret. He knew but we were often put in awkward situations....Lying about why she was still in bed into the afternoon and why she slurred her words.....Ugh! No child should ever be put in situations like that and I think that's why with my children we are an open and honest family.

My favourite way to relax. Day 18 of #Blogtober17

I am taking part in Blogtober17 and will be writing posts with various themes/prompts throughout October...Today's prompt is: Relaxation

One of my favourite ways to relax is to have a lovely bath with a bath bomb....Recently I have started having a soak in the bath during the day. Ellie walks home from school herself so once I've done the morning school run I can be in for the day so there's no rush to dry my hair...

I have mentioned before about my love of bath bombs....As much as I love other places to buy bath bombs I always find myself going back to Lush! There is something special about their products....I was there a few weeks ago and I was hugely disappointed that they didn't have their Halloween stock in....Hmmf! Tomorrow is payday and I will be making an order....hehehe

Monsters' Ball - £4.50
This monster mash-up of lime and neroli oils is a sure fire way to get the party started. Toss into a hot bath and watch it go. Olibanum oil relaxes and leaves you feelin’ Franken-fine all night long.

Lord Of Misrule - £3.95
Revel in your bath with this mischievous bomb that features a spicy herbal blend of patchouli and black pepper oil. Inspired by the ruler of the pagan Feast of Fools, Lord Of Misrule has a deep green exterior that slowly froths away to reveal a rich, wine-coloured centre.

Pumpkin - £4.25
Serve yourself up a slab of sweet pumpkin pie, dripping in spice and sauciness - it's even more satisfying in bath bomb form. Sweet, comforting vanilla absolute and spicy cinammon evoke the rich, biscuity fragrance of home-baking and stacked desserts, ensuring that you feel toasty from top to toe.

My 2nd favourite way to relax is with a nice glass of wine....I only usually drink on a Friday and Saturday night and that first sip after a long week is absolute bliss....

I always stick to the same wines but swap and change what I have depending on my mood....

Blossom Hill White Zinfandel is go to wine. I drink it most weekends.....Tesco Fruit Twist Peach And Pineapple is a bargain for £3.00 and it tastes so good...I loved it in the summer as well as the Echo Falls Fruit Fusion Rasberry And Cassis....Martini Asti Spumante Non Vintage is a treat for special occasions and Baileys Original Irish Cream is something which I buy when it's on offer....hehehe

And my 3rd favourite way to relax is to stay in my pj's which happens most weekends...As soon as the kids are home and their homework is done I put some pj's on and the only time I get changed is into clean pj's....hehehe

How do you like to relax?

Make Your Own Chocolate Pizza Kit - Review!

At the end of August we were sent a fab selection of gifts and toys from What 2 buy 4 kids to try and one of those gifts was the Make Your Own Chocolate Pizza Kit. My girls love pizza and chocolate so this was just perfect.....Becky had the honours of making it....

The pizza kit contains everything kids need to make a delicious 7-inch pizza made from chocolate, including a pizza mould and top quality ingredients.

I imagined the pizza mould the be a cheap plastic bowl but it's not it's actually a metal bowl....

You simply melt the chocolate in the microwave then decorate with sweets provided and white chocolate curls....

The chocolate did take longer than instructed to melt in the microwave but I just put that down to the fact it was a cold day....

It was so simple to make and Becky needed no instruction from me.....We popped it into the fridge and left it to set. After 20 or so minutes you are supposed to go back and cut it into slices so it is easy to eat...We forgot. Oops.

Later that night the girls wolfed it down....They loved it. They let me have a taste and it was certainly delicious...

The chocolate pizza costs £12.99 and I would say it is well worth the money. It would make a great gift for someone for Christmas!

We were sent the Make Your Own Chocolate Pizza Kit free of charge. This is our review.
