Winter is coming....

Ahhh Friday.....So glad you are here!
It seems like Autumn has just started but this week my word of the week this week has to be....

What a change in the weather....No we've not had snow yet but it has been so cold, bleak and wintry! It's been colder than a tin toilet seat on the shady side of an iceberg!

When the clocks changed I never really noticed how early it was getting dark.....Since the kids have been back at school we've noticed it.....It's coming in dark just as Becky is getting in from school now....As soon as Ellie and I are getting back from the school it's curtains closed, heating on and hot chocolate all round....

Tuesday we really noticed it....It was dark by the time we got in.....Straight from picking Ellie up from school we went up to the secondary school for Becky's parents evening....Not a full one...We're having that at a later date....We did get to meet her form tutor....A lovely man. He said Becky has settled in really well and is a lovely young lady.....She gets on with everyone in her class and is doing really well....I'm so pleased! It was Ellie's first time at the secondary school and she thought it was amazing!!

Have we all seen the John Lewis advert?
Aww! How cute is it! I want a penguin....hehehe I showed it to the girls last night and they oohed and aahed and Becky was nearly in tears....

With the Christmas adverts coming on the tv and the colder weather it's feeling very wintry.....

When I was choosing my word I was asking Stu his opinion of it like I do every week and when I said Wintry he said "Winter is coming" and started laughing....I totally missed the joke.....He had to explain the whole Game of Thrones thing to me....I don't watch it he does....

It's wasted on me but he said I have to put a picture of this fella in a blog post and said if people watch Game of Thrones they will get it....lol

Today I shall be buying new hats, gloves and scarfs for us all and a spare pair of fingerless gloves for when I'm on the laptop....hehehe

  4. Oooh, love hats and scarves! That's the one of the few things I like about winter (apart from Christmas), the clothes and accessories ;) Down here in Cornwall, it's not really that cold - yet. It's always colder up there, isn't it? We've been having loads of rain and grey skies :( #wotw.

  9. You are so right. Just yesterday I came home from the school run and immediately dug out the kids hats and gloves and winter coats, so they've been all snug today - of course, I've not sorted mine out so I'm still freezing! Thanks for sharing with #WotW x

Fingerless gloves are a must! I'm a DinnerLady and I can't tie shoe laces and do coats up in "proper" gloves :D

  17. Totally with you on this - winter's come out of nowhere! Hence the fact that it's nearly midday and I'm still snuggled on the sofa in a onesie under a sleeping toddler... That's my excuse anyway! :)

  19. We were all taken aback at how suddenly it got cold here - wasn't quite expecting it although it is November!! Heating is on, coats & scarfs are back on, it takes longer to leave the house because I have to layer up the children!! Game of Thrones? I haven't got a Scooby doo, my lovely!! But it's good to have something to enjoy thru the winter. Lovely WOTW x
