Top tips for stress free mornings...

The lazy mornings of the holidays are over and my girls have been back at school for a week now....As much as I hate mornings we do have a routine and it helps.....

Here are a few ideas to make those mornings easier....

Do all your school admin the night before....
Sort out all your paper work.....School trip letter, sick notes and dinner money.....Put everything in each child's schoolbag ready by the front door.....

Lay out children's clean clothes the night before....
You don't want to be rummaging through unsorted washing for pairs of hopefully matching socks at 7am?....

Allow time for yourself....
Whatever you need to face the world in a morning leave some time for yourself.......A hot cup of coffee or tea, a shower or five minutes on twitter....hehehe

Know each child's diary....
Make sure you know about your child's day.....Do they have after school clubs.......Note down when and where your children need to be....

Do homework the night before....
Make sure your children's homework is all done when it's supposed to be and put in their schoolbags....You don't want to be doing sums on the way to school or Googling planets first thing in the morning...

Stick to a routine....
Make sure your children know what you expect from them every morning and stick to that routine, whether it's that they should be fully dressed before breakfast or that they should brush their teeth straight afterwards.

Prepare packed lunches....
If your children have packed lunches prepare as much as you can the night before.

Keep calm....
It's much nicer for everyone if you start the day happy, rather than in a foul mood. Factor in a few minutes for the unexpected. If you are late, don't blame the children. Everyone has the occasional bad morning.....

Good Luck!!
