Summer Memories....

Today my girls have returned to school......The summer holidays have been brilliant.....I'm going to say the best one's we've had yet!! We did so much....

At the start of the holidays we wrote Our Summer Bucket List....Out of the 35 things we listed we got 25 of them done which I'm really pleased about.....

From our bucket list we......

Blew bubbles, flew a kite, hula hooped, played hopscotch, went on a boat ride, rode a fairground ride....Not quite a rollercoaster but close enough, Visited the library, made playdough, built and indoor fort, won a prize at a fair, had fish and chips and the seaside, fed some ducks, found a park we haven’t been to and visited it, built a sandcastle at the beach, had quite a few barbacues, rolled down hills, made our own ice lollies, had a picnic in the park, made lemonade, collected seashells at the beach, walked barefoot in the grass, explored a forest, paddled in the sea, danced in the rain, made smoothies and had a water balloon fight!

We also had day's out.....Shopping trips....Baked cakes.....Had PJ days....Lots of trips to the park and the girls played outside so much.... Some nights until way past their normal bedtime....Who cares it was the holidays!!

We only had one week in the middle of the holidays where boredom set in.....The weather wasn't too good which didn't help but we made it through.....

The summer of 2014 was just the best.....We have made so many memories.....I can't wait until next summer to make even more....

My girls are back at school today....Ellie going into year 3 and Becky in to year 7.....Yes Secondary school!!.....It scares me but thankfully she'll be walking to school and back again every day with my friends daughter who is in year 10 who will watch out for her....That makes me feel a little easier!

I can't wait for my girls to get home so I can hear all about their days!

  3. I hope secondary school goes well for your big girl! It is scary at first (probably for parents more than kids!). Your photos are lovely - it looks like you really did have a great summer. I like that everything on your list was do-able, but still fun. Our summer was a bit rubbish, must try harder next year!

  5. It looks like you all had a wonderful summer! What a great idea to make a summer bucket list! Sometimes it's so easy to put off plans until tomorrow or next week and before you know it the summer is over. Now I'll definitely be writing a summer bucket list next year so thanks for the inspiration. :-)
