Asus Transformer Book T100 - Review!!

A little while ago I was lucky enough to win a great giveaway from Currys on Twitter!!

I won an Asus Transformer Book T100 which is a 10.1 inch Windows tablet with a detachable keyboard which lets you use the it like a laptop.....In fact, when the keyboard is attached you’d be hard pressed to tell the difference between this and a netbook.....

Specifications...
  • Windows 8.1
  • Intel Atom Processor
  • 10.1-inch (1,366 x 768) display
  • 32GB storage
  • 2GB memory
  • Battery lasts up to 11 hours between charges
  • SonicMaster stereo speakers

Most of that means nothing to me.....I can only tell you what I think of the product.....

To start with....The price! £329.95 is not something I would personally pay for something like this....It seems very expensive in my eyes but it is very good at what it does....

I have used it and I like it....Windows 8 takes some getting used to if you are new to it which I was but I sort of have the hang of it now I think....lol

The T100 is as fast as my own laptop and can do everything a laptop can....It seemlessly switches between programmes, runs videos and and quickly loads pages on the internet....

I did find the keyboard strange to use as it's so small and cramped but that would just take some getting used to....The girls seem to be able to use it without any problems....They joys of having little hands...lol

To separate the screen and keyboard it is just a case of pushing the button and pulling and it easily comes apart....Putting it back together it a bit trickier....You have to line it up exactly.....I can't do it but the girls can....lol

I like to use it as a tablet....The touch screen is really responsive and I like the fact it's bigger than the tablets that the girls have....

The girls have been using it more than I have and they love it.....

PROS...
Lightweight and not bulky...
Boots up and shuts down quickly...
Responsive touch pad and touch screen...
Great battery life...

A very efficient sleep mode: when the kids just close the screen onto the keyboard it enters sleep mode and when I open it up the next day the battery has only lost 5%
Clear and loud speakers...

CONS...
Small, cramped keyboard...
Apps are more limited than Android...
Slow in charging...

This isn't something I would of bought but I am so glad to have received it.....It is a great gadget!

  9. How exciting to have won a laptop! I'm crazy about gadgets and have been eyeing a detachable laptop for a while. This looks great, but I agree about Andriod having better apps.

  10. What a great prize. I'm not sure it's something I'd buy - I don't really see the point of a mix of laptop / tablet - I'd rather just have one or the other. I think I'd just spend the money on an ipad ;)
Thanks for linking up with #TriedTested x

  11. What an amazing prize. I love the look of this, I'm getting sick of my laptop but my pad is just that little bit too small for blogging, something like this would be handy for blogging on the go.
