Injuries at work....

Since I've had my laptop fixed and the coffee table is back in the middle of the room I have walked into it and bashed my shins more time than I can count....I have bruises galore!

In the last few months I have burnt myself lots getting food out of the oven....I really must learn to use the oven gloves and not tea-towels, stood on Lego....That hurts!! Soaked the floor when doing the dishes and nearly slipped I hurt my shoulder stopping myself from falling, cut my finger on a corned beef tin, jammed my finger in the freezer door, dropped a tin out of the cupboard onto my foot, been ran over by a scooter, tripped up the stairs and slipped down the bottom couple of stairs and at the end of the day I always have an aching back and legs....

Who said being a stay at home mum was easy!! I am accident prone but working in the home is dangerous!!

Stu however does go out to work....He works in a shop and at least once a week comes home with some sort of work injury!!

He jammed his finger in a door a few weeks ago and his nail turned a lovely shade of purple....He cut's himself opening boxes with Stanley knives and is always hurting his back lifting boxes....

Just before Christmas he came home from work with a plaster on the top of his nose right next to his eye....He was reaching up for something in the warehouse and a box of tea-bags (which shouldn't of been there) fell down and the corner hit him....It took it's time to stop bleeding....So much so we actually thought it may need stitches....If he didn't wear glasses the injury could of been much worse....The box could of damaged his eye if it wasn't for his glasses stopping it....

LeoClaims work injury specialists say that if you have been injured at work through an accident that wasn’t your fault, you may be entitled to receive work injury compensation to help you deal with medical bills and contribute towards your financial losses....Being injured at work is not only painful, but disruptive to your life....

Work injury compensation would of been something to consider.....He may of had to pay for new glasses which are not cheap and might of had to take time off work which he would not of been paid for...We wouldn't be able to pay the bills if he wasn't being paid!! It could of left us in a lot of trouble!! Thankfully Stu was ok....It could of been so much worse for him, us as a family and potentially so disruptive to our lives!...
