Weekend Box - Review!!

Weekend Box is a revolutionary new concept for having Healthy, Green and Creative activities for your children aged 3-8 delivered right through your door every fortnight....

Everything in the Weekend Box is either reusable or recyclable and also 95% of each Weekend Box's contents coming from recycled material!!

Each box contains 4 categories:

Something to EAT (a healthy recipe with accompanying secret ingredient)
Something to MAKE (a craft kit with all the materials required)
Something GREEN (some seasonal seeds to plant or something to make with recycling/rubbish material)
Something to EXPLORE (sensory exploration games, for example).

We were lucky enough to be sent one of these boxes to review....I had to wrestle the box off Ellie...She knew it was for her and Becky....lol My first thoughts was it's small! How could there be at least 4 things to do in the box....I was so wrong!!

We opened the box and saw the cute little packages.... Then looked a bit further and realised each coloured package had a coloured instruction sheet to go with it...The instructions were so simple to understand and there was even a place on the sheet to put the sticker when the activity was complete...Ellie lives for stickers so this was a big bonus!!

Our activities were....

A Lolly Stick Bird Feeder - Green
DIY 3D Glasses - Make
Potato Boats - Eat
Sand Art Explorers - Explore

We all had great fun with these activities!! Even thought they are aimed at children aged between 3 and 8 years old Becky who is 11 had great fun too!!

The majority of the instructions were so simple to understand and just about everything we needed was included in the Weekend Box...Obviously not the things which were needed for the Potato boats like the Cheese and potatoes...lol

Ellie had a lot of fun with the Sand Art...This was her favourite activity in the box!! Such a fun and simple activity!

We tried to make the bird feeder but we struggled....I might be a bit dim but the instructions were a little difficult to understand....It would of been better with a couple of pictures to show where the lolly sticks went.....We muddled through though and came up with a decent looking base....Will have to hunt down some string though because the string supplied in the box just wasn't long enough....I really liked the fact there was bird seed supplied too...We're going to have some happy birds around here soon!!

Usually the Weekend Box costs £7.50 with free delivery!! All boxes are sent out using Royal Mail Second Class on Tuesdays which means you will have it for the weekend!!

Use NORTHUMBERLAND at Weekend Box to get your first box for only £3.75 of course including free delivery!!

Even at that price I think you're getting a great deal for the amount of things to do and make....Everything in the box was something I wouldn't of think of doing....Way more fun then the drawing, painting and baking we normally do!!

I was sent a Weekend Box free of charge for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own...

  6. When you said it was aimed at 3-8 year olds I thought it would probably be a waste of time seeing as my eldest is 9 but as you said later on, your eldest enjoyed it too. I may have to get one of these to try out. :)

  9. Thought we'd just been unlucky with the string, but obviously not, nice concept though. Used garden twine in the end for that challenge.
