Our 'Fluffy' Visitor!!

Last weekend we had a visitor!! Ellie had been dying for this moment since September when she started in Year two!!

Ellie brought home Fluffy!! The class pet!! Actually a stuffed toy but who cares....lol I don't think I could of coped with a live animal...A stuffed one was more than enough responsibility for us....hehehe

He was a very well behaved puppy! Walking home from school he even knew how to use the pedestrian crossing....

Ellie was funny....I asked her who looked after him during the Christmas holidays....She said a teacher and he was well looked after....I asked if he got any Christmas presents...Ohh yes a squeaky toy....I then asked did he have any Christmas dinner....Ellie said "Don't be silly, he's a stuffed toy...He doesn't eat real food" Silly me to ask! lol

Ellie had great fun.....Showed him all around the house, played princesses, found him some fancy shoes, played the game Doh-Nutters and even found him a little friend....

Fluffy even went on an adventure out to the shops....We haven't been out and about much lately....It's been too cold or wet but having Fluffy gave us a great excuse to get out, get some fresh air and exercise!!

It gave the girls the chance to have a good go on their scooters they got for Christmas....They made the most of it and whizzed about all over the place! Right up to the top of the high street and back....Of course stopping off to buy some sweets on the way home....

By the time they got home they both must of scooted about two miles....They never complained once of tired legs....I thought Ellie would of but no....She thought it was great fun!!

For once Ellie asked to do her homework!! She usually hates writing but took great pleasure in writing all about Fluffy's visit!!

Fluffy was a great guest! He can come back again!! Anything which encourages Ellie to do her homework is welcome in my house....hehehe

  1. What a wonderful idea from the school to inspire children to write about their weekends! It looked like Fluffy had a wonderful time and inspired some great play inside and out. Be careful they may want a real puppy now! Thanks for linking up and sharing with Country Kids.

  6. My eldest was at school in Reception class before we came to France and he brought home "something" like Fluffy ... but for the life of me I can't remember what. I'll have to ask him tomorrow, he's bound to remember! I do remember he very much enjoyed it.

  9. I LOVE this idea! I have fabulous pictures from the weekend my daughter brought home the class "pet," a zebra, when she was in Kindergarten. We had a much more active weekend because Andrea wanted to bring the zebra EVERYWHERE!

  11. Our school has a similar 'pet' and Jacob gets very excited when Polly Panda comes to stay! Lovely adventures - love the one where Fluffy is pressing the button to cross the road - very sensible road safety ;-) #CountryKids

  13. I know from experience how exciting these visits can be. Austin was over the moon when it was his turn to have Rachel Rabbit for the weekend! Looks as though Fluffy really enjoyed himself at yours.

  14. Lovely photos :) I used to dread the class teddy coming home because he brought a diary with him and he always seemed to have been to really exciting places!

    1. Ah, this is where children learn that different families have different lifestyles and not to compare to each other. The teddy bear may have been to some exciting places because those families had special plans, or it may be because families really try to impress others through the diary. The weekend my daughter came home with the class zebra, we went to the park, for a bike ride, and my daughter and the zebra helped Dad fix something in the backyard. It was nothing spectacular, but my daughter thought it was magical to share her weekend with the zebra. Excitement isn't always about places, but about experiences. Be proud of who you are and what your family does to enjoy each other!
