Visiting Santa Claus: Top Grottos in the UK

You may have already planned where you’re going to take your little ones to meet the big man himself. With so many grottos around the UK, you don’t have to go far to make an afternoon special for them. While the local shopping centre will undoubtedly have something planned grotto-wise, there are plenty of other options if you’d like to make it super special for your youngsters. Check out some of these fabulous places and, if any of them appeal, book now to avoid disappointment!

Hamleys

A list of grottos wouldn’t be complete without the Father Christmas experience at London’s most impressive, flagship toy shop. A visit to Hamleys is every child’s (and parent’s!) dream; set over 9 floors with different toys per floor, a visit to this toy shop doesn’t even need to include a chat with Santa, but it can definitely help the flow of magic.

Available from the 23rd November until Christmas Eve, at £45 per child and £10 per photo, the experience includes food, activities and token gift.

Paulton’s Park

Home to Peppa Pig World, this theme park in Hampshire is full of family-friendly rides and attractions, and around Christmas, the Santa Claus experience is in full swing. Take a walk through a magical wintery wonderland before stopping at his grotto so your children can tell him what they want for Christmas. Perhaps a new bike or the Dance & Play Puppy are on their lists – who knows, their wishes may come true!

Tickets to Santa’s Winter Wonderland also include access to the theme park too, so plenty of value for money! They cost £23.50 per person (adult and child) and include a gift from Santa, too.

Chill Factor-e

Where better to enjoy a visit to Santa than somewhere that provides real snow! Feel like you’re in the heart of Lapland with a trip to Chill Factor-e, in Manchester, where you can visit Santa as well as play in the snow for a great afternoon out.

Ticket prices vary, depending on what you choose – tubing, snowplay, sledging and luging are all available as add-ons to your visit to Santa. Prices vary from £15 per family of 2, to £36 per family of 2, depending on the activity you opt for.

Make a visit to Santa as magical as possible this year, with a trip to one of these fab grottos, or one of the many others around the country!

  1. I would also recommend Harrods. I spent 4 hours writing up my experience. Wasn't paid or compensated in any way but just literally got home and wanted to RAVE about it.
Check out my post if you have time.

  2. I'm hoping N might be a bit more willing this year. Last, he spent it crying and wouldn't even talk to Santa - despite the fact we even knew 'Santa' in real life. I wasn't planning to take him to one this year, but he's been going on about Santa and seems to be more excited about him this year...guess we'll see. Don't want to traumatise him. Last time, he didn't sleep properly for weeks afterwards.
