Out in the garden - #KidsGrowWild Challenge

We live in a terraced house with a small front garden which is full of stones and a concreted back yard great for me...no lawns to mow & no weeds to dig...The girls can quite easily spend all day out there if the weather is nice...

They have room to run about play on their scooters, get the paddling pool out and we have a big park about a five minute walk away if we ever need to feel the grass beneath our feet....

The girls love our back yard despite it having no grass or anywhere to grow anything like flowers or plants....

.........That is until now!!

I was emailed by the wonderful people at Britmums who were wanting people to take part in the #KidsGrowWild Challenge....I thought 'why not?' Who needs a 'proper garden' to be able to grow things...We received a free gardening starter kit from Moneysupermarket.com who are sponsoring the challenge and the girls were eager to get started!!

As we don't have anywhere to plant anything in the backyard I sent Stu out to buy some supplies....This isn't an advert for Poundland but he got some trough planters for £1 each and bags of soily stuff for £1 each!! Bargain!! They have loads of other stuff too....

As you can see from the pictures we had lots of fun!!
We planted the Pansy's & the Garden flowers....We will plant the sunflowers later in the week!!

The girls and myself can't wait to see them growing....We've had lots of sunshine over the last few days and Ellie my youngest has been great at remembering to water the soil....

I actually had expected her to start digging the soil and messing about with it while she was out in the yard with Becky playing but she has been a superstar and actually left them alone...I think she's starting to learn she has to wait for things to grow!

Next on the list of things to grow are strawberries & tomatoes!! I think I could get quite into growing things and gardening....May be my new hobby!

This post is an entry for BritMums’ #KidsGrowWild Challenge....
